Competition
Our Globe is only a tiny
dot in the universe. Yet as we look closer, it makes us feel proud that we
have the responsibility to insure that this intricate, fragile balance of
our ecosystem is held upright so life can develop and thrive under its
wings.
GlobaLocalTecture
is looking at our environment from a global to a regional scale; from
a rural to an urban scale and from a building to a micro scale.
It provides a skeletal
frame work from which architectural solutions can be approached, developed and realized.
It suggests analysis of the
natural resources of our planet e.g. wind, tidal, solar... etc. and
interweaves as well as transforming these known resources
into the components of Architecture in consideration of the law of
conservation of energy.
It looks at different age
groups in relation to respective social, cultural and environmental needs,
paving the way for equilibrium between life heritage, human heritage and
architecture.
This project does not offer
one to one technical solutions. Instead it should start a discourse promoting the idea of self-sufficiency, sustainable housing and living. It
sets parameters for solutions as an alternative to our present
understanding of ecology. It gives a platform to specialists all over the
world to combine their evolving knowledge. It advertises sustainability to
the broad public.
We have just begun or
someone has been engaging in
GlobaLocalTecture.
